Russian forces have intensified strikes on Ukrainian transport and port infrastructure over the past few days. Civilian vessels in the Mykolaiv region were hit, as well as transport infrastructure in the Odesa region and, likely, a bridge on the route between Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.

According to the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, three civilian vessels were damaged as a result of a Shahed-type attack drone hitting port infrastructure.

The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed on the morning of August 3 that Russian forces allegedly struck three dry cargo ships in the Black Sea. The Russian agency traditionally called the ships military targets, but there is no independent confirmation of this statement.

Transport infrastructure attacked in Odesa region

The Odesa Regional Military Administration confirmed a Russian attack on transport infrastructure in the region. A fire broke out on the territory of one of the facilities as a result of the shelling.

According to preliminary data, six people were injured. Three of them were hospitalized, while others are receiving the necessary medical care. Work continues at the scene to deal with the aftermath.

Earlier, Ukrainian monitoring channels reported a massive attack with ballistic missiles and drones on a bridge in Zatoka. Russian Telegram channels claimed that one of the spans of the structure collapsed as a result of the strikes and traffic was blocked for a long time.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian authorities have not officially named the specific targeted facility and have not confirmed information about the destruction of a bridge. The Odesa Oblast Military Administration only reported damage to transport infrastructure, a fire, and six injured people.

The bridge in Zatoka is important for the transport connection of the southern part of Odesa region. A railway line passing through it connects Danube ports with other regions of Ukraine and is used for transporting cargo from the Romanian side.

Part of a bridge between Sloviansk and Kramatorsk destroyed

Russian forces also launched a missile strike on one of the bridges on the route from Sloviansk to Kramatorsk. Footage shows that a significant part of the roadway collapsed.

According to unconfirmed reports, a car was driving on the bridge at the time of the attack and fell along with the damaged structure. There is currently no official information about casualties.

Russian forces systematically attack transport infrastructure in the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration as the front line approaches these cities.
