For Friday, July 31, the National Bank set the following official rates: - US dollar – 44.6916 UAH ( -0.1873 UAH to the official rate on Thursday, July 30); - euro – 51.2747 UAH ( +0.1935 UAH to the official rate on Thursday, July 30).

The rates were set at 16:00 on July 30 and reflect the following trends:

1. On Thursday, the interbank foreign exchange market continued to see a decline in non-cash dollar quotes. This was partly due to increased supply from exporting companies. The average deal price as of 12:00 was 44.8125 UAH. In addition, around lunchtime, the National Bank intervened again. As a result, quotes dropped to 44.58 UAH on the bid side. The average deal price fell even more, and the National Bank lowered the official dollar rate for Friday, July 31, by almost 19 kopecks.

2. The euro on the international FOREX market continued to rise on Thursday, reaching 1.1501 dollars at the time of writing. At the time of fixing, the euro was trading at 1.1473, which is 91 pips higher than on Wednesday (1.1382 dollars). Therefore, even despite a significant drop in the official dollar rate, the NBU raised the official euro rate by 19.4 kopecks.

On the cash market, the decline in rates that began yesterday continued. Yesterday evening, the dollar was being sold in Kyiv for 44.91 UAH, but by Thursday evening its price had dropped to 44.78 UAH. In Odesa, the dollar fell by 5 kopecks, in Lviv – by 10, in Kharkiv – by 12, and in Dnipro – by 13 kopecks compared to yesterday evening. It seems that the end-of-month factor has finally fully come into play.
