Fuel prices in Poland continue to rise for the fifth consecutive week
Car fuel prices in Poland continue to rise for the fifth consecutive week. According to the Reflex analytical bureau, the average price of Pb95 gasoline reached 7.51 zlotys per liter, updating the maximum since the beginning of 2026.
The increase also affected diesel fuel. Analysts warn that the rise in prices at Polish gas stations is not over yet: next week diesel may become more expensive the most – on average by another 16 groszy per liter.
Different monitoring systems record different average figures, as they use their own samples of stations and data collection dates. According to the latest open research by e-petrol, as of July 22, a liter of Pb95 gasoline cost an average of 7.29 zlotys, diesel fuel – 7.64 zlotys, and autogas – 3.09 zlotys.
In one week, gasoline in the e-petrol monitoring rose by as much as 30 groszy, and diesel – by 45 groszy. The price of gasoline has reached its highest level since 2022. The highest prices for Pb95 were recorded in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship – on average 7.37 zlotys per liter. Diesel was most expensive in the Masovian Voivodeship – at 7.71 zlotys.
A new wave of price increases began after the expiration of the government's CPN package, which temporarily limited fuel prices. From July 1, the value-added tax for gasoline and diesel returned from 8% to the standard 23%. At some stations, prices after the abolition of the relief rose by more than 80 groszy per liter in just one night.
Additional pressure is exerted by the increase in wholesale prices. By July 24, the average price of Pb95 gasoline at Polish refineries reached 5803 zlotys per cubic meter, and diesel fuel – 6566 zlotys. The rise in the cost of raw materials and finished petroleum products is gradually being transferred to retail price tags.
The situation is also influenced by tensions in the Middle East and high world oil prices. Diesel is becoming more expensive especially quickly, as its wholesale prices react to the risks of supply disruptions and increased demand from the transport sector.
According to e-petrol's forecast, from July 27 to August 2, a liter of Pb95 gasoline at Polish gas stations will cost from 7.29 to 7.42 zlotys. Diesel may sell for 7.99–8.15 zlotys, Pb98 gasoline – for 8.14–8.29 zlotys, and autogas – for 3.06–3.15 zlotys per liter.
Thus, owners of diesel vehicles in early August may face the most noticeable increase in expenses. Further dynamics will depend on global oil prices, the zloty exchange rate, wholesale prices, and the situation in the Middle East.
