A backup heat supply pipeline is being built in one of Kyiv's districts

In Kyiv's Holosiivskyi District, a new heat supply pipeline is being built for the Teremky-1 and Teremky-2 residential areas. The project is being implemented as part of the capital's Resilience Plan.

The new heat network is intended to create a backup heating scheme in the event of a critical shutdown of CHP-5. It will provide heat to 183 residential buildings, three medical facilities, and 18 schools and kindergartens.

The construction is commissioned by the municipal enterprise "Kyivteploenergo". Part of the network will be laid under a green area, so trees and shrubs within the construction corridor are planned to be removed.

A special commission has already inspected the area. According to its findings, 662 trees need to be removed during the work, 56 of which can be transplanted, and 70 shrubs, 16 of which are suitable for transplantation.

The Kyiv City State Administration stated that greenery will be removed only after professional inspection and in compliance with the law. After the construction is completed, the territory will be recultivated, the landscaping will be restored, and new trees and shrubs will be planted.

In addition, "Kyivteploenergo" must pay compensation for the removed plants. The received funds will be directed to the creation and development of new green areas in the capital.

The city administration stressed that the backup heat network is intended to increase the resilience of critical infrastructure and maintain the heating supply for Teremky in case of emergency situations or damage to energy facilities.
