The National Bank set new dollar and euro exchange rates for August 3
On Monday, August 3, the National Bank set the following official exchange rates: - US dollar – 44.6395 UAH ( -0.0521 UAH to the official rate on Friday, July 31); - euro – 51.2729 UAH ( -0.0018 UAH to the official rate on Friday, July 31).
Rates are set at 16:00 on July 31 and reflect the following trends:
1. On the last day of July, the activity of traders on the interbank foreign exchange market noticeably decreased. Trading throughout the session was in a narrow range of 44.62–44.68 UAH. The average transaction price at 12:00 was 44.6623 UAH – about 15 kopecks lower than on Thursday at the same time. After lunch, transactions mostly took place around 44.62–44.64 UAH. As a result, the average transaction price declined even further by the end of trading. Therefore, the National Bank lowered the official dollar rate for Monday, August 3, by 5.2 kopecks.
2. On Friday, the euro corrected its growth on the international FOREX market, falling from 1.1531 to 1.1455 dollars. At the time of setting, the euro was sold at 1.1486 – 13 pips higher than on Thursday (1.1473 dollars). Therefore, despite the reduction in the official dollar rate, the official euro rate remained almost unchanged.
In the cash market, after yesterday's decline, some stabilization of prices is observed. In some cities, the rate insignificantly decreased compared to yesterday; in others, it rose by a couple of kopecks. Yesterday evening, the dollar in Kyiv was sold at 44.78 UAH, and by Friday evening, its price rose to 44.79–44.80 UAH. In Dnipro, the dollar rose by 3 kopecks, while in Kharkiv, Lviv, and Odesa, on the contrary, it fell by 2–4 kopecks.
