Magura naval drones used for the first time as FPV carriers against targets on land

Special forces of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine used Magura naval platforms as carriers of FPV drones for strikes on ground targets in temporarily occupied Crimea.

As reported by the GUR, the operation was carried out by fighters of the special unit Group 13 at the end of July 2026. As a result of the strikes, a control vehicle from the Russian radar complex "Podlyot" was hit.

The second target was the "Parol-4" radar interrogator, which is used by the friend-or-foe air object recognition system.

"From now on, our 'Maguras' threaten the Russian occupiers on land as well – this is a radical shift of the struggle to another dimension," said the commander of Group 13 with the call sign "Thirteenth".

Previously, Magura family platforms were used mainly against Russian ships and military aircraft. In May 2025, the GUR publicly presented the multipurpose model Magura W6P, the design of which allows for installing launch containers for FPV drones.

According to military intelligence, during the full-scale war, Group 13 operators destroyed nine and damaged five Russian ships. They also destroyed three helicopters and two fighters of the Russian forces, and another helicopter was damaged.
