Military levy brought nearly another 18 billion UAH to the budget

In July 2026, the special fund of the state budget received 17.9 billion UAH from the military levy. This was reported by the Ministry of Finance, citing operational data from the State Treasury Service.

From July 1, the procedure for crediting this payment changed. Now the funds go not to the general, but to the special fund of the state budget and are used exclusively for the monetary allowance of military personnel.

During January-June 2026, the general fund of the state budget received almost 94.24 billion UAH from the military levy. In just the first day of the new procedure, the special fund received 353.2 million UAH.

The military levy was introduced in 2014. The Ministry of Finance stressed that the needs of the security and defense sector are also financed through taxes, excise duties, rent payments, dividends from state enterprises, and the placement of domestic government bonds.
