Zelensky instructs diplomats to intensify dialogue with China
During a meeting with Ukrainian ambassadors, the head of state outlined new foreign policy priorities. He named developing relations with China as one of the main directions, according to РБК-Україна .
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky instructed Ukrainian diplomats to work more actively on developing relations with China. According to him, this is necessary to prevent full support for Russia from Beijing.
"We need to seek dialogue with China if we don't want China to fully support the Russians. If it thinks about its future with Russia and sees no other countries there, all this needs to be built," – said Zelensky.
The president also noted that Ukraine has already achieved positive results in developing relations with a number of states, including the Philippines, but this work must continue.
"We need to restore all this, everything needs to be finalized," - he emphasized.
Separately, Zelensky instructed diplomats to pay more attention to Syria.
According to him, after the regime change, the country is undergoing a period of transformation, and Ukraine was among the first states to support the new Syrian authorities. Therefore, cooperation with Damascus must be strengthened.
In addition, the president stated that Ukraine needs a stronger presence in Latin American countries. He also expressed hope that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with the Presidential Office team, will present a new strategy for developing relations with African states.
Earlier, The Economist wrote that China is studying Russia's experience in the war against Ukraine.
According to the publication, Chinese military personnel are training at ranges in the Russian Federation, and Moscow is also sharing military technologies and data on the use of Western weaponry with Beijing.
