In Wrocław, an 18-year-old Ukrainian is accused of attempted murder
The Wrocław prosecutor's office has charged an 18-year-old Ukrainian citizen with the attempted murder of a 30-year-old woman. If found guilty, he faces life imprisonment.
The attack occurred on the evening of August 1 in the stairwell of a residential building in the Muchobór district. According to the investigation, the young man stabbed the woman several times, including in the neck and chest.
The victim was hospitalized in life-threatening condition. On Monday, August 3, she left the hospital and has already testified to investigators.
The suspect was detained shortly after the attack. During interrogation, he did not admit guilt and refused to give explanations.
Prosecutor office representative Jakub Dłubacz stated that, according to available information, the young man was not previously acquainted with the victim. The motive for the attack has not yet been established.
The investigation is deciding on appealing to the court for a temporary arrest of the suspect.
The Consulate General of Ukraine in Wrocław condemned all forms of violence and stressed that isolated crimes should not cast a shadow on the entire Ukrainian community in Poland.
