Zelenskyy announced new agreements on missile systems
Ukraine is preparing for a significant expansion of the localization of Western weaponry and joint defense production with European and American companies.
President Vladimir Zelenskyy announced this following Pavel Palisa's report on the fulfillment of defense agreements with international partners.
One of the key areas remains the strengthening of air defense. Ukraine coordinates daily with the U.S. and European countries to obtain additional support packages and missiles for air defense systems.
Zelenskyy emphasized that the necessary interceptors must be promptly delivered to Ukrainian launchers, rather than remaining in depots far from zones of real threat.
Simultaneously, negotiations are ongoing on the localization in Ukraine of production of necessary types of Western weaponry. The President has not yet disclosed details, but stated that this direction will be substantially expanded.
According to him, European partners are ready to support Ukraine in the long term through localization of production and the establishment of joint defense enterprises.
During recent meetings in the U.S., the Ukrainian side also agreed on several special options for the use of missile systems and the expansion of cooperation between Ukrainian and American companies.
The sides are currently preparing the relevant documents and establishing direct engagement between enterprises. Pavel Palisa will coordinate this work together with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the American side, and Ukrainian manufacturers.
