Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Vsevolod Chentsov expects that the process of opening clusters for Ukraine will be completed by autumn. He stated this in a speech at the general meeting of ambassadors in Kyiv, according to Європейська правда.

Chentsov recalled that there have been no technical obstacles to the opening of clusters for a long time; all preparatory work has been done.

"We could open all the clusters right now, in a single day", – he added.

The Vice Prime Minister did not deny that the Hungarian side still maintains a blockage on the opening of clusters, and Budapest has not yet lifted this blockage, but he expressed optimism.

"Returning to the issue of Hungary – we have significantly improved interaction with that country", – he added.
"It is realistic to open two clusters in September, and two more – we will see if it happens in October, but we definitely want it to happen in the autumn", – said Chentsov.

The Vice Prime Minister stressed that such a timetable does not mean accelerated accession, but is based on Ukraine's fulfilment of the accession criteria.

"Therefore, when you get told, say, 'you can't rush with Ukraine', when they say 'this has never been the case before', our response is very simple: Ukraine has done all its homework. We are not saying that Ukraine is in a state of war and needs special treatment. We have done everything that needs to be done", – he stated.

In Ireland, which holds the EU presidency, they meanwhile link the delay in opening the final clusters to reforms.

Earlier, Prime Minister Koretsky stated that without coordinated work by the government and the Rada, there will be no progress towards the EU.
