A source named a possible candidate for the ambassador of Ukraine to the USA
A possible candidate for the post of ambassador of Ukraine to the USA is the deputy head of the Presidential Office, Pavel Palisa. This was stated by an informed source in the government, according to РБК-Україна .
"Palisa was considered for such a position", said the interlocutor.
The source did not reveal more detailed information.
Who is Pavel Palisa
Pavel Palisa is a Ukrainian serviceman who, since November 2024, has held the position of deputy head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine.
Before his appointment, he commanded the 93rd Mechanized Brigade "Kholodny Yar" and participated in combat operations from the first years of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
For his military service, Palisa was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine with the Order of the "Gold Star".
In the Presidential Office, he handles issues of national security and defense, interaction with military command, and the implementation of projects related to the development of Ukraine's defense sector.
By the way, US President Donald Trump recently called Palisa his "favorite soldier" in Ukraine.
Dismissal of Stefanishina
As a reminder, today, August 3, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the dismissal of Olga Stefanishina from the post of ambassador of Ukraine to the USA.
It was previously known that the head of the Ukrainian state offered former prime minister Yulia Svyrydenko to head the Ukrainian diplomatic mission in the USA.
On July 14, sources of RBC-Ukraine reported that Svyrydenko had not yet given her consent to the president's proposal.
There were also rumors that Rustem Umerov could become the new ambassador of Ukraine to the USA. But today, August 3, the president appointed Umerov as the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service.
