The General Staff named the most active sections of the front by the evening of August 3
Since the start of the day on August 3, 182 combat engagements have occurred on the front. Russian troops were most active on the Kostyantynivka, Sloviansk, and Pokrovsk axes.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this in its operational update as of 22:00.
During the day, Russian troops launched one missile strike using two missiles and carried out 58 air strikes, dropping 184 guided aerial bombs.
In addition, the Russian army used 6,544 kamikaze drones for attacks and conducted 2,217 shellings of Ukrainian military positions and settlements.
Situation on main axes
On the Siversk‑Slobozhanskyi and Kursk axes, two combat engagements occurred. Russian troops shelled Ukrainian Defense Forces positions and settlements 44 times.
On the Southern Slobozhanskyi axis, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions eight times near Starytsia and towards Volokhivka.
On the Kupiansk axis, Russian troops attacked twice near Petropavlivka and towards Shyikivka.
On the Lyman axis, the Defense Forces repelled four enemy attempts to advance towards Drobysheve and Stavky. As of 22:00, one battle was ongoing.
On the Sloviansk axis, Ukrainian defenders stopped 17 attacks in the areas of Zakotine, Kryva Luka, and Reznikivka, as well as towards Mykolaivka and Rai‑Oleksandrivka.
On the Kramatorsk axis, Russian units attacked twice near Fedorivka Druha and towards Yurkivka.
On the Kostyantynivka axis, the Defense Forces repelled 26 assaults near Kostyantynivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, and Rusyn Yar, as well as towards Novopavlivka. Three engagements were ongoing.
Fighting on the Pokrovsk axis
On the Pokrovsk axis, Russian troops made 16 attacks. They tried to advance in the areas of Kotlyne, Udachne, and Novomykolaivka, as well as towards Nove Shakhove, Shevchenko, Matyasheve, Vasyilivka, Myrne, and Novopidhorodne.
According to preliminary data from the General Staff, Ukrainian defenders eliminated 33 Russian servicemen on this axis, with another 15 wounded.
The Defense Forces destroyed an artillery system, two units of automotive equipment, a drone control post, and 31 shelters of Russian troops. An artillery system, a UAV control post, two units of automotive equipment, and 191 shelters were also damaged.
Ukrainian units destroyed or suppressed 399 Russian drones of various types.
Situation in the south
On the Huliaipole axis, the Defense Forces repelled 11 attacks towards Vozdvyzhivka, Staroukrainka, Huliaipole, Tsvitkovе, and Charivne. Two battles were ongoing.
On the Orikhiv axis, Ukrainian defenders stopped two Russian attempts to push forward near Plavni and towards Novoaykovlivka.
On the Oleksandrivka and Prydniprovia axes, the enemy did not conduct offensives. No significant changes were recorded on other parts of the front.
