Ukrainian startup Promova reduces dozens of employees in second wave of layoffs
Ukrainian EdTech company Promova has reduced 63 employees from various departments. The company explained this as a revision of market strategy and business priorities, and several laid-off specialists have already announced they are looking for new jobs.
The layoffs affected all departments of Promova. The company stated that it is reviewing its organizational structure in line with current business priorities and a new stage of product development.
Promova plans to focus resources on areas that management considers key for the company's further growth.
Employees whose cooperation is being terminated were promised a severance payment of one month's salary, compensation for unused vacation, and retention of corporate benefits during the transition period.
The company also plans to provide laid-off employees with reference letters, help with resume preparation, and access to an internal resource management system. Promova assured that the restructuring will not affect product operations or the fulfillment of obligations to users and partners.
Some specialists affected by the layoffs shared news of their departure from the company on LinkedIn. Anna Dolynska thanked her colleagues for working together and said she plans to take a break first, and later will consider new professional offers.
Former B2B account manager Marta Syroishka also announced she is open to offers in the fields of Account Management and Customer Success.
Creative copywriting specialist Myroslava Kapitan noted that she is looking for a job in creative marketing. She is considering positions that combine copywriting, creation of creative assets, analysis of their effectiveness, and validation of marketing hypotheses.
This is the second wave of layoffs at Promova in the last nine months. In November 2025, the company ceased cooperation with 28 employees - approximately 15% of the team at that time. The previous decision was explained by rising advertising costs, increased difficulty in acquiring new users, and market instability.
Promova is a Ukrainian platform and application for learning foreign languages. The company was founded in 2019 and is part of the Genesis business ecosystem.
