The situation on the foreign exchange market has changed: the dollar has started to lose value

On Tuesday, August 4, the situation on the interbank foreign exchange market changed dramatically. Convinced that the National Bank was not allowing the dollar to rise above the 45 UAH level, exporting companies began to actively enter the market with sales of foreign currency earnings, which caused a drop in the quotations of the non-cash dollar.

By the time of writing, they had fallen to 44.71 UAH on the bid and 44.73 UAH on the offer. In 3 hours of trading, the dollar on the interbank market cheapened by 14 kopecks. At the same time, some importers, seeing that the quotes are no longer growing, decided to take a break and observe to what level the dollar might cheapen.

The euro on the interbank foreign exchange market of Ukraine on Tuesday is trading in the range of 51.45-51.62 UAH on the bid – practically at the same level as yesterday. On the international FOREX market today, there is a lull after yesterday's sharp fluctuations, the euro is trading in the range of 1.1502-1.1517 dollars.

Price tags for the cash dollar continued to decline simultaneously with the fall in the cost of the non-cash dollar. If yesterday wholesale exchange points in Kyiv sold the dollar at 44.77 UAH, today by lunchtime – already at 44.72 UAH. In Odessa, the dollar on Tuesday lunchtime is sold at 44.78 UAH, in Poltava – at 44.80 UAH, in Kharkiv – at 44.81 UAH.

Ukrainian banks as of 12:45 are selling the dollar at prices from 44.78 UAH in Bank Lviv to 45.35 UAH in Zaporizhzhia's Metbank. As for the euro, at the moment it can be purchased cheapest in Bank Lviv at 51.47 UAH.

Oil prices again went up, as the situation in the Middle East remains tense. Despite the fact that the day before Trump canceled a pre-planned strike on Iran and announced new negotiations, all this still remains at the level of talks. The popular Brent grade has risen in price to $86.31 per barrel and is currently trading in the range of $85.55-85.85 per barrel.

On crypto exchanges, prices for major cryptocurrencies on Tuesday rose slightly after yesterday's decline. Bitcoin on the most popular crypto exchange Binance this morning dropped to $64,244 per coin, and Ethereum – to $1,882.44 per coin. Currently, bitcoin is sold at $63,520 - 63,540, and Ethereum – at $1,854-1,862 per coin.
