Transfers from the NBU special account for defense increased more than sixfold
In July 2026, the National Bank transferred almost UAH 4 billion from the special account for defense needs. This is more than six times the volume of transfers in June, which amounted to about UAH 651 million.The National Bank of Ukraine reported this.
As of August 1, the balance of funds in the special account amounted to almost UAH 3.3 billion. A month earlier, it was more than UAH 6 billion.
In July, citizens, businesses, and international partners transferred more than UAH 1 billion to the account. Overall, since the start of the full-scale invasion, the volume of receipts has reached almost UAH 160.1 billion equivalent.
Most of the funds in July were allocated to the Defense Procurement Agency. It received three tranches totaling approximately UAH 3.54 billion:
- more than UAH 2.47 billion - on July 8;
- more than UAH 907.5 million - on July 16;
- UAH 158 million - on July 17.
At the same time, during the month the Defense Procurement Agency returned more than UAH 202.7 million of unused funds to the special account.
Another about UAH 370.8 million in July was allocated for defense work of regional military administrations. The Odesa Regional State Administration returned almost UAH 20.1 million of unused funds.
For the needs of the National Guard of Ukraine, another UAH 35 million was transferred on July 13.
Overall, since February 24, 2022, the National Bank has transferred almost UAH 157.8 billion from the special account for the needs of the defense forces. The Defense Procurement Agency received the most funds for the entire period - more than UAH 100.9 billion.
From abroad, more than UAH 137 billion equivalent has been received on the special account. Donations were made in US dollars, euros, British pounds, Canadian and Australian dollars, Chinese yuan, Japanese yen, Swiss francs, and Polish zloty.
