President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy officially introduced Ihor Klimenko as the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council and outlined the main tasks he must address in the new post.

The Head of State expects Klimenko to enhance coordination among all components of the security and defense sector. Zelenskyy noted his experience in leading the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which unites the work of law enforcement and rescue structures.

One of the main directions will be preparing Ukraine for winter. The new NSDC Secretary must interact with the Prime Minister, representatives of the Government, the Presidential Office, the military, and special services to make this work more efficient and coordinated.

Klimenko is also tasked with strengthening cooperation between the Security and Defense Forces and speeding up the preparation of decisions necessary for the country's defense.

A separate task will be localizing the production of air defense systems, missiles for them, and other necessary types of weapons in Ukraine. According to Zelenskyy, the relevant preparatory work must be carried out as quickly as possible.

In addition, the new NSDC Secretary must pay greater attention to countering Russian cyber threats, disinformation, and information operations.

The President expects Klimenko to provide concrete proposals for solutions that will enhance the effectiveness of the state's work in the national security sphere.
