Zelenskyy Urges Partners to Speed Up Interceptor Deliveries After New Russian Ballistic Attack

Amid a massive Russian attack, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on partners to provide more active assistance with interceptor missiles for air defense systems. The Ukrainian president wrote about this on his social networks, according to Європейська правда.

Zelenskyy noted that during the attack, Russia used 24 ballistic missiles, 4 "Tsirkon/Onyx" missiles, and 115 drones, a significant number of them jet-powered.

The main target of the attack was storage facilities of civilian enterprises, and there were also strikes on infrastructure and a railway station. A brewing company, construction materials warehouses, and civilian logistics were also hit.

"Ballistic interceptors – something that could have saved the lives of those killed today. It is very important for partners to understand that delays in their supply or unwillingness to provide anti-ballistic systems leads precisely to such terrible casualties and destruction", Zelenskyy emphasized.

He also added that partners who are not yet ready to help more actively with interceptor deliveries can assist with new sanctions steps.

"A significant part of Russian ballistic missile production is not under sanctions. Still. New steps are needed from the G7 and the EU, and everyone who supports the protection of life. I am grateful to those who are ready to help in this very way", the president remarked.

During the night of August 5, Russia carried out a massive combined attack on Kyiv Oblast, using ballistic missiles and attack drones.

It should be noted that, according to the Air Force, the air defense system failed to shoot down any of the 24 ballistic missiles.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha reminded about the need to pressure Russia through sanctions in the wake of a new massive attack on Kyiv Oblast.
