Kherson left without electricity after Russian attack: restoration to take several days

Kherson was left completely without electricity due to damage to a critical infrastructure facility as a result of a nighttime Russian attack.

Energy workers have already begun emergency repair work. Full restoration of power supply in the city is planned within several days, reported Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

Residents of the city were urged not to overload the grid when power returns. Kherson residents are asked not to turn on air conditioners, boilers, electric stoves, washing machines and other powerful appliances at the same time.

The Regional Military Administration warned that a sharp increase in consumption could cause new accidents and delay the restoration of power supply.

The authorities also called on Kherson residents to consider evacuation to safer communities in the region or other regions of Ukraine. People are promised help with departure, accommodation and settling in a new place.
