Almost 5,000 trucks piled up near the border amid port shutdown

As of August 6, 4,948 trucks were in electronic queues to leave Ukraine. Transport accumulated at 38 checkpoints, and in some sections the estimated waiting time exceeded six days.

The most difficult situation arose on the border with Poland: there, 4,306 trucks were waiting to cross – almost 87% of the total. 1,357 vehicles weighing over 7.5 tonnes were registered at the "Yahodyn – Dorohusk" checkpoint. The estimated waiting time was 6 days and 11 hours.

In the queue at the "Shehyni – Medyka" checkpoint were 492 empty trucks weighing over 3.5 tonnes. Their estimated waiting time reached 4 days and 18 hours. Another 374 heavier vehicles were expected to wait about 4 days and 9 hours.

On the Romanian direction, the greatest load was recorded at the "Orlivka – Isaccea" checkpoint: 308 trucks and an estimated 2 days and 16 hours of waiting. At the "Rava-Ruska – Hrebenne" crossing, 430 vehicles were registered, which were predicted to spend about 2 days and 14 hours in the queue.

The increased load on land crossings is linked to disruptions in the operations of the Greater Odesa ports due to Russian shelling. Some of the freight traffic thus shifted to road routes. Carriers should check the current situation on the "eQueue" website, as the number of vehicles and waiting times are constantly changing.
