Drones attacked a Wildberries warehouse in Russia, 2,000 km from the border with Ukraine (Updated)

On the morning of August 7, drones attacked a Wildberries logistics complex in Russian Yekaterinburg, causing a fire on its territory. The object was first identified by the publication Astra using OSINT analysis of videos published by eyewitnesses.

Astra reported several hits and published footage of a column of smoke over the complex. In subsequent recordings by eyewitnesses, the fire could be seen intensifying.

Sverdlovsk Oblast Governor Denis Pasler stated that the Russian military allegedly destroyed eight drones in the region using aviation, air defense systems, and mobile fire groups. According to him, three drones fell on the roof of the logistics center.

"People were evacuated, there are no casualties. Firefighting units are extinguishing the fire at the logistics center, emergency services are on site", - Pasler reported.

Artem Zhoga, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the Ural Federal District, specified that 800 people were evacuated from the complex premises. According to him, no one was injured as a result of the attack.

The press service of the combined company Wildberries & Russ also confirmed the attack and the fire. The company stated that the evacuation was carried out in advance, and current deliveries were temporarily redirected to other logistics facilities. The extent of damage and the timeframe for the warehouse to resume operations have not yet been disclosed.

Shortly thereafter, the company reported that the fire had been contained and noted that most of the merchandise had not been damaged.

The monitoring channel Exilenova+ claims that a Ukrainian long-range drone "Liutyi" was used for the strike. The Ukrainian military and official bodies did not comment on the attack on Yekaterinburg. It should be noted that the distance from the Ukrainian border to Yekaterinburg is approximately 2,000 km.

A drone danger mode was declared in the Sverdlovsk region in the morning. The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) temporarily restricted arrivals and departures at Koltsovo Airport, but later resumed its operations.
