EU Extends Sanctions List in Response to New Massive Strikes by Russia on Ukraine

The European Union on Friday, August 7, approved new sanctions lists against Russia, in response to recent massive strikes on Ukraine. This was announced by EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas on X, according to Європейська правда.

Kallas noted that each new attack on Ukraine is another reason for Europe to increase pressure on Russia.

According to her, the new lists include five individuals linked to the Russian military-industrial complex.

"As the Russian army is bogged down on the battlefield, Moscow is further intensifying its campaign of terror against civilians. The EU must continue to increase pressure on Russia until Moscow stops the war", – Kallas emphasized.

Recall that the EU Council on July 23 finally approved a new package of sanctions against Russia, which, as stated, "deals a powerful blow to Russian energy, financial services and cryptocurrencies".

This came after its approval was blocked by individual countries for various reasons, the last of which was Greece.

Following this, it became known that the EU is reviewing its approach to sanctions against Russia.
