Dollar exchange rate jumped due to importer activity
On Monday, August 10, the non-cash dollar quotes on the interbank foreign exchange market soared and by the time of writing reached 44.856 UAH at the 'bid' position and 44.88 UAH at the 'offer' position.
In less than 2 hours, the dollar on the interbank market rose in price by almost 20 kopecks. The reason is high activity of importers (primarily buyers of gasoline and fuels and lubricants). At the same time, the National Bank, although it intervened, did not hinder the growth of quotes. According to information from the portal 'Kurs Ukrainy', the NBU does not hinder the growth, hoping for an increase in the supply of foreign currency earnings from exporting companies, which will soon need the hryvnia to pay taxes, including profit tax for the first half of the year.
