The High Anti-Corruption Court allowed Yermak to travel within Ukraine but kept the electronic bracelet

The investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court partially changed the procedural obligations of the former head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak. He was allowed to be in eight regions without separate approval, but the court refused to remove the electronic bracelet.

The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office does not officially name the suspect, indicating only that it concerns the former head of the Presidential Office. According to "Ukrainska Pravda", the decision relates to Andriy Yermak.

Earlier, the suspect was prohibited from leaving Kyiv and Kyiv region without the permission of a detective, prosecutor, or court. Now he will be able, without such permission, to move around Kyiv, as well as Kyiv, Dnipro, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions.

The court also allowed him to transit through other regions. The defense explained the necessity of the travel by Yermak's participation in a project to provide legal aid to servicemen.

Before the lawyers' appeal to the court, SAPO and NABU simultaneously received a number of similar letters from military unit commanders in support of the suspect.

The prosecutor objected to easing the restrictions. According to the prosecution's position, the previous procedural obligations did not hinder the work of the project, because Yermak performs the functions of a manager in it, not a lawyer who directly provides legal assistance to the military.

The defense also requested to cancel the obligation to wear an electronic monitoring device. This part of the motion was not granted by the investigating judge, so Yermak must continue to remain with an electronic bracelet.

The former head of the Presidential Office is suspected of involvement in the legalization of about 460 million UAH during the construction of a private cottage town near Kyiv. Yermak himself previously denied the accusations against him.

On May 14, the HACC took him into custody with the possibility of bail in the amount of 140 million UAH. After the entire amount was received on May 18, Yermak left the detention facility, but a number of procedural obligations were imposed on him.
