Ukrainian Special Operations Forces Report Strike on Petrochemical Complex in Tobolsk

Deep Strike units of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces, in coordination with the ‘Black Spark’ movement, struck the ZapSibNeftekhim petrochemical complex in Tobolsk, Tyumen region of Russia.

According to the Ukrainian side, after the strike, fires and destruction were recorded on the territory of the enterprise. The Ukrainian Special Operations Forces did not disclose further details of the operation. There is no independent assessment of the scale of the damage to the enterprise at the time of publication.

The fact of the attack on an industrial facility in the Tyumen region was also confirmed by the Russian authorities, but they did not identify the enterprise. The regional governor, Alexander Moor, reported that several drones fell on the territory of one of the industrial enterprises, causing a fire. Emergency services worked at the scene.

ZapSibNeftekhim is part of the SIBUR group and is located in the Tobolsk area. The company's official website describes the complex as one of the group’s largest production facilities. Its capacity allows it to produce about 2.5 million tons of base polymers per year. Around 3,300 people work at the enterprise.

The production site combines feedstock hydrocarbon refining and petrochemical production. The main products of the complex are polyethylene and polypropylene, widely used in industry and the manufacturing of consumer goods.

Thus, the target of the strike was not an oil refinery, but a major facility of the Russian petrochemical industry. So far, there is no information on whether the damage has affected production volumes and the operation of individual installations at the complex.
