"Ukrzaliznytsia" restricts ticket sales on some routes due to consequences of RF attacks

"Ukrzaliznytsia" has temporarily closed ticket sales on certain dates and directions starting from August 27. The restrictions are related to the consequences of Russian attacks, which force the company to reorganize logistics and train schedules.

Ukrzaliznytsia reported employee fatalities, as well as damage to or destruction of locomotives, cars, and railway infrastructure. Specialists are currently determining which services can be operated and preparing the necessary technical solutions.

The restrictions do not apply to all trains. If tickets for a particular service after August 27 are not displayed, it may indicate that sales have not yet opened due to schedule adjustments. This does not necessarily mean the train is being canceled entirely.

Sales will resume once the feasibility of operating a specific service is confirmed. The company cannot yet provide exact timelines.

Due to uncertain schedules and high demand, long queues may occur at ticket offices in major cities during peak hours. Temporary online service outages are also possible due to increased load, but the lack of tickets on certain dates may actually be a planned sales restriction.

What passengers are advised to do

  • Enable notifications in the official app. For a desired service, you can activate alerts when sales open. The app will send one as soon as tickets become available.
  • Do not go to the station simply to check on tickets. Cashiers cannot sell a ticket if centralized sales for the service have not been opened.
  • Check official sources regularly. Current services, schedules, delays, and sale statuses are published on Ukrzaliznytsia's booking portal.
  • Check information before traveling. Due to rapid route reconfiguration, departure times or operating patterns may change.

Ukrzaliznytsia emphasized that its employees are doing everything possible to keep rail traffic moving and passenger transport continuing despite Russian strikes.
