Interbank without NBU interventions: the dollar failed to continue falling
On Thursday, August 13, non-cash dollar quotes on the interbank foreign exchange market, immediately after the opening of trading, attempted to continue the decline that began yesterday, but the attempt was unsuccessful.
Currently, interbank trading is taking place in the range of 44.675-44.735 UAH. Activity of both buyers and sellers is relatively low. For this reason, the National Bank has not yet intervened in the course of trading, but is ready to help at any moment. The euro on the interbank foreign exchange market of Ukraine on Thursday is trading in the range of 51.46-51.55 UAH on the "bid" side. On FOREX, the euro slightly decreased compared to the previous day and is trading in the range of 1.1512-1.1531 dollars.
Cash dollar prices have changed slightly over the past 24 hours. If yesterday afternoon wholesale exchange offices in Kyiv were selling the dollar at 44.82-44.84 UAH, today – already at 44.84-44.86 UAH. In Dnipro the dollar is sold at 44.87 UAH, in Odesa – at 44.89 UAH, in Mykolaiv and Khmelnytskyi - at 44.90 UAH. Ukrainian banks by 12:00 sell the dollar at prices ranging from 44.78 UAH at Bank Lviv to 45.27 UAH at Zaporizhzhia Metabank. As for the euro, it is currently cheapest to buy it at Bank Lviv for 51.68 UAH.
Oil prices continue to correct after a rise two days ago. The popular Brent grade fell to $86.84 per barrel and is currently trading in the range of $86.94-87.03 per barrel.
On cryptocurrency exchanges, prices for major cryptocurrencies are trying to rise again. Bitcoin on the most popular cryptocurrency exchange Binance on Thursday morning rose to $64,010 per coin, and Ethereum – to $1,900 per coin. Currently, Bitcoin is sold at $63,700 - 63,720, and Ethereum – at $1,882-1,888 per coin.
