SBS reported 29 new hits on energy hubs in the occupied territories

The Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported 29 new effective strikes on energy facilities in the temporarily occupied territories as part of Operation “Crimean switch off”. In total, from July 1 to August 13, the SBS claims already 240 effective strikes on energy hubs.

The commander of the SBS, Robert “Magyar” Brovdi, reported on the new results of the operation. Among the declared targets are the Balaklava TPP in occupied Sevastopol, electrical substations in Berdyansk and other areas of the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia region, as well as energy facilities in Mariupol, Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

In particular, the SBS reported strikes on 110 and 150 kV substations in the area of Berdyansk, Prymorsk, Chernihivka and other settlements of the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia region. In Donetsk region, among the targets are several substations in Mariupol and adjacent areas, as well as the gas distribution station GRS-1 “Mariupol”.

The list also includes repeat strikes on individual facilities. Therefore, the declared 29 hits do not necessarily mean 29 different energy facilities: some substations were attacked repeatedly by the SBS.

According to Brovdi, the goal of the operation goes beyond creating power outages in the occupied territories. The SBS is trying to cut power to stationary radars and other elements of the Russian air defense system in order to weaken the protection of rear military facilities and create conditions for subsequent strikes.

Operation “Crimean switch off” has been ongoing since early July. The scale of declared hits is growing rapidly: as of July 18, the SBS reported 83 affected energy hubs, and by July 20 – already 104. On July 21-22, the military announced another 13 hits and brought the total count at that time to 117.

All the data provided on the results of the strikes comes from the Ukrainian side. It is currently impossible to independently confirm the degree of damage to each of the listed facilities in the occupied territory.
