Dnipro Metallurgical Plant threatened with bankruptcy case

LLC "HIR-International" filed an application to open proceedings in the bankruptcy case of PrJSC "Dnipro Metallurgical Plant". The document was received by the Commercial Court of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast on August 12, 2026, reports "Borg.Expert".

The new case was assigned number 904/4867/26. As a result of automated distribution, it was transferred to Judge Anastasia Soloviova. The mere fact of filing the application does not mean that the plant is declared bankrupt: the court must assess the existence of grounds provided by law and the further progress of the case.

The financial problems of the DMZ have been trying to be settled for several years. The rehabilitation of the enterprise began in 2020. The initial plan covered the claims of 235 creditors in the amount of over UAH 1.246 billion. In 2022, it was amended, in particular providing for further deferral of payments and write-off of 20% of the debt.

In October 2025, a preventive restructuring procedure was opened regarding the plant. On January 27, 2026, the court approved its plan until February 2028 and closed the previous rehabilitation procedure. At the same time, during this period, the amount of the enterprise's debt, according to the publication, increased to approximately UAH 1.310 billion.

"HIR-International" appealed the approval of the restructuring plan. On August 12, the Supreme Court partially satisfied the creditor's cassation appeal, reversed the decisions of lower courts on approval of the plan, and remanded the case for a new hearing to the first instance court. In parallel, the creditor filed a separate application to open bankruptcy proceedings against the DMZ.
