Russian intelligence services may have prepared the assassination of rapper Kyivstoner in Warsaw - RMF

A man was detained in Poland who, according to RMF FM, may have been preparing a contract killing of well-known Ukrainian rapper and video blogger Kyivstoner. The operation was carried out by capital police officers in cooperation with Poland's Internal Security Agency (ABW).

As reported by the Polish radio station, the detainee comes from Donbas. According to the journalists' version, he was to carry out an order linked to Russian intelligence services. Earlier, RMF FM reported on the detention of an alleged hitman in Warsaw, but the name of the possible target was not disclosed at that time.

Now journalists claim that the likely target was Kyivstoner - Albert Vasyliev, also known as Slevin Dadyan.

RMF FM links the possible motive to claims by Russia's FSB against the musician. The Russian intelligence service accused him of allegedly organizing and controlling the logistics of supplying drones to the Moscow region for attacks on strategic facilities.

According to Russian claims, the drones were allegedly transported from Slovakia through Poland and Belarus, and the musician himself was added to a Russian list of persons Moscow considers involved in "extremist and terrorist activities".

Kyivstoner himself denies the Russian accusations of cooperation with Ukrainian intelligence services and involvement in such operations.

Kyivstoner became known for short humorous videos on the internet, and later was a member of the popular Ukrainian group "Griby". After leaving the project, he began a solo music career. After Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the artist publicly condemned Russian aggression.

Meanwhile, there is currently no official statement from Polish police orABW publicly naming Kyivstoner as the target of the alleged assassination attempt. RMF FM reports his identity as a possible target citing information from its reporter.
