In Ukraine, during the full-scale invasion, 6.5 thousand illegal decisions of military medical commissions were overturned. At the same time, more than 25.6 thousand resolutions of local VLKs remained valid after review.

This was reported by Acting Head of the National Police Maksym Tsutskiridze in an interview with Censor.NET.

According to him, the final assessment of the validity of decisions by local military medical commissions is given by the Central VLK. For more than 1.6 thousand resolutions, a decision on re-examination was made without their prior cancellation.

Police emphasize that the mere fact of reviewing a VLK conclusion does not mean it is illegal. Each case is assessed separately along with medical documentation on the basis of which the decision was made.

Which diagnoses were most often falsified

According to the National Police, abuses in revoked conclusions most often concerned diseases of the musculoskeletal system, cardiovascular system, and neurological diseases.

Law enforcement officers also detected manipulations with mental disorders, diseases of the organs of vision and hearing, and internal organs.

In some cases, false information about a diagnosis was entered into medical documents, on the basis of which a person liable for military service was declared unfit for service. In others, documents with fictitious diagnoses were produced for money. Such schemes could involve VLK members, TCC employees, and civilian intermediaries.

At the same time, police emphasize that legitimate conclusions of people with real severe diseases or consequences of injuries should not be overturned merely because a VLK decision was subjected to review.
