In Kyiv and the region, weight control of trucks has been strengthened for a week

In Kyiv and Kyiv region from August 17 to 22, dimensional and weight control of freight transport has been strengthened. More than 15 crews will be involved in inspections.

The measures are carried out under the coordination of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration with the participation of inspectors of Ukrtransbezpeka and employees of the National Police.

Inspections will take place on highways and local roads, approaches to the capital, as well as at places of loading and unloading of trucks.

Data from automatic weigh-in-motion WIM complexes will be used for prompt detection of violations.

What will be checked at carriers

Inspectors will monitor compliance with established dimensional and weight parameters, availability and correctness of transport documents, in particular consignment notes, as well as drivers' work and rest schedule.

In case of violations or the driver's refusal to undergo dimensional and weight control, measures provided by law will be applied. In particular, blocking devices may be installed on trucks.

Ukrtransbezpeka explains the strengthening of control by the results of previous inspections. In June, violations were detected in every fourth inspected truck.

The purpose of the measures is to preserve the road infrastructure of the capital region, improve traffic safety and create equal conditions for carriers that comply with legal requirements.

Ukrtransbezpeka emphasized that under martial law, roads are of particular importance for civilian and special transport, military and humanitarian logistics, and the functioning of the region's economy.

For carriers that do not violate established requirements, working conditions do not change. The enhanced inspections are primarily aimed at trucks carrying cargo exceeding the permissible weight.
