Rada replenished with two deputies from "Servant of the People"
Two new people's deputies from the party "Servant of the People" have appeared in the Verkhovna Rada - Bohdan Morklyanyk and Viktoriya Rieznikova. On August 18, they took the oath of a people's deputy and acquired deputy powers, reported MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
The Central Election Commission recognized Morklyanyk and Rieznikova as elected people's deputies on July 22. In the party list of "Servant of the People" they had No. 163 and No. 165 respectively. On July 30, after receiving the necessary documents, the CEC registered them as people's deputies.
What is known about Bohdan Morklyanyk
Bohdan Morklyanyk is a scientist and educator in the field of engineering and construction, Doctor of Technical Sciences and professor. Before moving to parliament, he was deputy head of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance and professor of the Department of Strength of Materials and Structural Mechanics at Lviv Polytechnic.
Since March 2022, Morklyanyk has been mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was awarded the honorary badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Silver Cross".
Previously, Morklyanyk also headed the Ukrainian National Office of Intellectual Property and Innovations, in 2016-2019 was an adviser to the First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Trade, and in 2008-2014 worked as vice-rector of Lviv Polytechnic.
Who is Viktoriya Rieznikova
Viktoriya Rieznikova is a Doctor of Law, professor and specialist in economic and corporate law. She headed the Department of Economic Law and Economic Justice of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
In 2000, Rieznikova graduated from the Law Faculty of Khmelnytskyi Institute of Regional Management and Law, and received her doctoral degree in 2011. Among the areas of her scientific and professional work are contract and corporate law, economic justice and economic analysis of law.
Rieznikova is also a corresponding member of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine. She participated in the work of scientific advisory bodies and preparation of expert conclusions and legislative proposals in the field of law.
Why the seats in the Rada became vacant
Morklyanyk and Rieznikova received deputy mandates as the next candidates in line in the electoral list of "Servant of the People" after the early termination of powers of Denys Maslov and Vitaliy Bezghin.
As of August 18, the official portal of the Verkhovna Rada lists 390 current people's deputies with a constitutional composition of parliament of 450 deputies.
