Zelensky dismissed Mudra from OP amid NABU special operation

President Volodymyr Zelensky on August 19 dismissed Iryna Mudra from the post of deputy head of the Presidential Office. The personnel decision appeared on the same day when NABU and SAP announced a large-scale operation "Forest Gump", in the materials of which Mudra is associated with one of the episodes of the investigation.

The corresponding decree No. 734/2026 was published on the president's website.

"To dismiss Mudra Iryna Romanivna from the post of Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine", - the document reads.

The decree is dated August 19 and enters into force from the day of its publication. The reasons for Mudra's dismissal are not specified in the document.

Mudra's name appeared in the materials of the "Forest Gump" operation

Earlier the same day, NABU and SAP announced the special operation "Forest Gump" to expose a criminal organization, in which, according to the investigation, people's deputies, senior officials of the Presidential Office, heads of the state bank and other persons were involved.

NABU itself did not name Iryna Mudra among the defendants by surname in the first official messages. However, people's deputies Oleksii Honcharenko and Yaroslav Zhelezniak published fragments of procedural materials in which Mudra is mentioned in episodes related to the state Sense Bank and the organization of funds for bail for the defendant in the "Midas" case Herman Halushchenko.

In particular, in the documents cited by the deputies, the investigation claims that unidentified persons from the Presidential Office allegedly set Mudra the task of attracting the necessary resources for bail. In another episode, it is about the possible establishment of control over the state Sense Bank.

NABU later released a detailed video with operational records. In one of the episodes, the Bureau designates the participant of the telephone conversation as "deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine", but does not directly name her surname in the video.

Kurs Ukraine wrote in detail about the materials of the "Forest Gump" operation, the published recordings of conversations and the possible role of Mudra in the episodes investigated by anti-corruption bodies.

Currently, there is no official confirmation that Zelensky's decision to dismiss Mudra is directly related to the NABU operation. The president's decree does not indicate such a reason.
