Rada summoned NBU Governor Pyshnyi over Sense Bank situation in NABU investigation

The Verkhovna Rada decided to summon the Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Andriy Pyshnyi to a plenary session due to the situation surrounding the state-owned Sense Bank and the NABU investigation. 155 MPs voted in favor of the relevant proposal.

The initiator of the summons was MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak. According to him, Pyshnyi is to appear in Parliament on August 20 at 11:00 and provide explanations regarding the situation at Sense Bank.

In parallel, MPs considered a proposal to summon Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko. It received only 90 votes, so the decision was not adopted.

The Parliament's decision was a continuation of the high-profile investigation by NABU and SAPO. According to the investigation, a criminal organization ensured the legalization of UAH 150 million in cash obtained illegally. The funds were to be channeled through company accounts and used to post bail for one of the suspects in the "Midas" case.

NABU claims that the state bank and accounts of controlled enterprises were used to implement the scheme. According to detectives, in early June the organizers gained actual control over the bank. The procedural materials released by MPs refer specifically to Sense Bank.

At the same time, NABU has not officially named all members of the group by surnames. Information about specific officials of Sense Bank and other persons comes, inter alia, from the investigation materials released by MPs. The guilt of any person can only be established by a court.

The result of the vote to summon the NBU Governor was published on the official portal of the Verkhovna Rada. Yaroslav Zheleznyak also announced the decision on his Telegram channel.
