Hetmantsev denies intention to control Sense Bank after NABU tapes publication
In new NABU materials within the "Forest Gump" special operation, an episode appeared about possible influence on the state-owned Sense Bank. In one of the recorded conversations, among people who allegedly came with proposals about the bank, NABU marked one of those mentioned as "head of the VRU committee". After the publication of the recordings, the head of the parliamentary finance committee, Danylo Hetmantsev, denied that he wanted to establish control over Sense Bank.

Before the recordings of conversations, the Bureau states that at the beginning of June, the organizers of the scheme allegedly obtained actual control over the state-owned bank and thanks to this could use it in their own interests.
Further, NABU presents a conversation of a person, whom it marks in the subtitles as deputy head of the Presidential Office. She talks about several people who allegedly separately from each other came with the question about Sense Bank.
"Like, they will not touch Sense Bank, and Sense Bank must pay them. First David came, then those, then *** (head of the VRU committee). Moreover, they did not come together, but separately", the recording says.
NABU hid the names of some of the mentioned persons. The Bureau does not name the person whom it characterizes in the subtitles as "head of the VRU committee", and also does not specify which parliamentary committee is meant.
In another fragment, the same interlocutor recounts a conversation during which one unnamed high-ranking official of the Presidential Office allegedly asked another to "take" Sense Bank. Their names are also hidden in the video.
Hetmantsev denied intention to control Sense Bank
After this episode appeared, the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Danylo Hetmantsev reacted to the publication and denied that he wanted to control Sense Bank.
At the same time, NABU in the video itself does not identify the marked as "head of the VRU committee" interlocutor or the mentioned person as Danylo Hetmantsev. Therefore, there is no basis to say that the Bureau directly named him as a participant of this episode.
At the same time, Hetmantsev over the recent months has himself actively raised the issue of possible abuses in Sense Bank. In May, he called the situation around the bank an example of a large-scale criminal scheme and alleged possible use of the institution for illegal payments in the gambling business.
Later, the conflict between the deputy and the National Bank became public. The NBU called Hetmantsev's statements unfounded and considered them as politically motivated pressure on the regulator.
What NABU is investigating
The new episode appeared within the "Forest Gump" special operation. According to NABU and SAPO, a group of persons organized the laundering of UAH 150 million of cash obtained by criminal means in order to pay bail for one of the defendants in the "Midas" case.
The investigation claims that the state-owned Sense Bank, accounts of controlled companies and conversion centers were used in the scheme. NABU materials also feature conversations about interaction with the bank's top management and possible bypassing of financial monitoring.
