Trains delayed up to 12 hours after RF attacks - Ukrzaliznytsia data

Ukrzaliznytsia train traffic on August 20 underwent significant changes amid hostilities and infrastructure damage. In addition to altered routes for suburban and regional services in the direction of Kyiv, dozens of long-distance trains are running with hours-long delays.

According to operational data from Ukrzaliznytsia's service "What's with the trains?", for a significant part of such services the delay reason is directly indicated as "impact of hostilities".

The longest delay among the listed services was recorded for train No. 775/776 Sumy - Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi: 12 hours 41 minutes.

Two more trains from Dnipro are delayed by more than eight hours:

  • No. 39 Dnipro - Solotvyno - 8 hours 8 minutes;
  • No. 285 Dnipro - Lviv - 8 hours 8 minutes.

Among other significant delays:

  • No. 63/64 Przemyśl - Kharkiv - 6 hours 53 minutes;
  • No. 37/38 Kyiv - Dnipro - 6 hours 33 minutes;
  • No. 133/134 Kyiv - Kamianets-Podilskyi - 6 hours 29 minutes;
  • No. 75/76 Kryvyi Rih - Kyiv - 6 hours;
  • No. 3 Dnipro - Uzhhorod - 6 hours;
  • No. 85 Dnipro - Lviv - 6 hours;
  • No. 53/54 Dnipro - Odesa - 6 hours;
  • No. 253/254 Kryvyi Rih - Odesa - 6 hours;
  • No. 7/8 Kharkiv - Odesa - 6 hours;
  • No. 791/792 Kremenchuk - Kyiv - 6 hours;
  • No. 79 Dnipro - Lviv - 5 hours 45 minutes;
  • No. 119 Dnipro - Chełm - 5 hours 45 minutes;
  • No. 41 Dnipro - Truskavets - 5 hours 27 minutes;
  • No. 87 Dnipro - Kovel - 5 hours 27 minutes;
  • No. 121/122 Kyiv - Mykolaiv - 5 hours 16 minutes;
  • No. 22 Lviv - Kharkiv - 5 hours 7 minutes.

Hours-long delays also affect international services and trains connecting central and eastern regions with western regions. In particular, trains to Przemyśl and Chełm are delayed, as well as services between Kharkiv, Dnipro, Kyiv, Lviv, Uzhhorod, Mukachevo, Odesa and other cities.

What changed in suburban traffic

Earlier, Ukrzaliznytsia reported operational changes in suburban train traffic toward the capital due to infrastructure damage as a result of the night attack on Kyiv and the region.

In particular, it was initially planned to limit the route of trains No. 6903 and No. 6905 Nizhyn - Kyiv to Bobryk station, and No. 6902 and No. 6906 were to run from Bobryk to Nizhyn. A shortening of the route of regional train No. 893 Konotop - Kyiv was also reported.

However, the carrier later updated the information: No. 893 Konotop - Kyiv should follow the full route to Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi. At the same time, No. 886/885 leaves from Chernihiv to Kyiv-Volynskyi that day instead of the route Slavutych - Kyiv-Volynskyi.

The services No. 6909 and No. 6911 Nizhyn - Kyiv-Volynskyi, as well as No. 6910 Kyiv-Volynskyi - Nizhyn, will not be operated.

Delays are also recorded on suburban routes. In particular, No. 6903 Nizhyn - Kyiv-Volynskyi was delayed by 3 hours 31 minutes, No. 6103 Kyiv - Fastiv by 2 hours 25 minutes, No. 6404 Fastiv - Kyiv by 2 hours 15 minutes, and No. 6540 Fastiv - Sviatoshyn by 2 hours 5 minutes.

Ukrzaliznytsia warns that operational data may change during the day. Passengers are advised to check the status of their trip before travelling, and during an air raid alert not to wait for the train on the platform and to stay in a safe place.
