On the night and morning of August 20, drones attacked industrial and energy infrastructure in several regions of Russia. In Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan, drones moved toward a large industrial zone with oil refining enterprises, and in Krasnodar Krai, attacks on the oil terminal "Tamanneftegaz" and the "Taman" substation were reported. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine officially confirmed the damage to the TANECO oil refinery in Nizhnekamsk and the oil terminal "Tamanneftegaz" in Krasnodar Krai, Russia. After the strikes, fires broke out on the territory of both facilities, and the extent of the damage is currently being clarified.

In Nizhnekamsk, eyewitnesses filmed the work of Russian air defense. According to ASTRA, an explosion near one of the drones occurred not far from a car gas station, but the device continued its flight toward the industrial zone.

In this part of Nizhnekamsk, among others, located the TANECO oil refining complex of "Tatneft", the "TAIF-NK" refinery, and enterprises of "Nizhnekamskneftekhim".

Monitoring Telegram channels published a video, which, according to their claims, captured the moment of impact on the territory of the TANECO refinery. There is no independent confirmation of the exact location of the impact and the scale of damage at the time of publication.

Mayor of Nizhnekamsk Radmir Belyaev confirmed a massive drone attack on the area, but stated that it was allegedly successfully repelled by air defense systems. Russian authorities initially did not publish detailed information about the condition of industrial enterprises after the attack.

In the morning in Tatarstan, a threat of UAV attack was declared for a number of cities, including Nizhnekamsk, Kazan, Yelabuga, Naberezhnye Chelny, Almetyevsk, and other settlements.

In Kuban, strikes on two objects were reported

In parallel, monitoring resources reported an attack on the oil terminal "Tamanneftegaz" in Krasnodar Krai. Information about the nature of possible damage and fire at the facility at the time of publication is not officially confirmed.

The same night, according to monitoring channels, the "Taman" substation with a voltage of 500 kV was hit. This is a large facility of the main power grid. There is currently no data on the consequences of the attack and possible power supply disruptions.

Thus, within one night, attacks were reported on several objects related to Russian oil refining, transshipment of oil products, and energy.

Separately, the Telegram channel Exilenova+ reported alleged deaths as a result of the attack on Nizhnekamsk. This information at the time of publication has no reliable official or independent confirmation, so data on the number of possible victims requires additional verification.

The Ukrainian side at the time of publication did not officially report the results of the current attack on these objects.

Ukraine confirmed the attacks

Later, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine officially confirmed the damage to the TANECO refinery in Nizhnekamsk. According to the Ukrainian command, a hit was recorded on the territory of the enterprise, after which a fire broke out.

The General Staff noted that TANECO can process up to 16 million tons of oil feedstock per year and produces a wide range of oil products, including motor fuel. According to the Ukrainian side, the enterprise is also involved in supplying the Russian army.

Official confirmation also appeared regarding the oil terminal "Tamanneftegaz" in the village of Volna, Krasnodar Krai. The General Staff reported the damage to the facility and a fire on its territory.

"Tamanneftegaz" is one of the large Russian transshipment complexes in the Black Sea region. Its capacities allow handling up to 19.9 million tons of oil, oil products, and liquefied hydrocarbon gases per year. The terminal ensures the transfer of cargo from railway transport to sea vessels.

The General Staff stated that the terminal is used to meet the logistical and fuel needs of the Russian army. The degree of damage at TANECO and "Tamanneftegaz" is currently being clarified.

According to the General Staff, strikes on these objects were carried out on August 19 and into the night of August 20 by units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
