Denmark plans to produce thousands of drones using Ukrainian technologies

Ukrainian defense company TAF Industries and Danish drone producer Upteko have agreed to create a joint venture for the development and production of drones in Denmark. The partners plan to reach an output of thousands of drones per month from the beginning of 2027.

The agreement was signed on August 19 during the defense exhibition DALO Industry Days in the Danish city of Herning. It provides for the creation of a production facility and office in Denmark, as well as joint development of new unmanned systems.

One of the areas of cooperation will be the expansion of production capacities in the FPV drone segment. The companies also plan to jointly develop technologies and diversify component supply chains to reduce dependence on individual suppliers.

TAF Industries notes that the Ukrainian side will bring to the partnership experience in rapid production scaling and constant feedback from personnel who use unmanned systems in combat conditions.

Upteko, for its part, specializes in the development of unmanned systems for defense and security tasks. The Danish company works, in particular, on reconnaissance ISR drones and solutions for data collection and situational awareness.

According to CEO of TAF Industries Volodymyr Zinovsky, the partnership should combine Upteko's engineering expertise in electronics, hardware, and software with Ukrainian experience in mass production of defense technologies.

The project will be implemented within the Build with Ukraine program, which provides for the creation of production facilities of Ukrainian defense companies in partner countries using Ukrainian technologies and combat experience.

For TAF Industries, this is not the first project for localizing production outside Ukraine. In June, the company agreed with Polish defense concern PGZ on localizing the production of drones and anti-drone means in Poland. TAF Industries also previously concluded agreements on defense production in Finland.

The creation of an enterprise in Denmark fits into the broader trend of transferring Ukrainian defense technologies to the EU production base. For European countries, this provides access to systems that have been tested in the conditions of full-scale war, and for Ukrainian companies - additional capacities, financing, and more resilient supply chains.
