Visit of Witkoff and Kushner to Ukraine postponed due to intensified RF attacks

The planned trip of Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Ukraine has been somewhat postponed due to the intensification of Russian missile and drone strikes on Kyiv last week. At the same time, the visit has not been cancelled.

This was reported by RFE/RL journalist Alex Raufoglu, citing informed sources.

According to him, the long-awaited trip of Witkoff and Kushner to Ukraine is "somewhat postponed, not cancelled." He did not name a new date for the possible visit.

It was initially reported that representatives of US President Donald Trump could come to Kyiv on August 24 and take part in events marking the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence. The likelihood of such a visit at the end of July was assessed as high.

However, on the eve of Independence Day, a source from Suspilne in the White House reported that the trip of Witkoff and Kushner had been discussed, but not finally confirmed. Ukraine's then ambassador to the US, Olga Stefanishyna, also said that there was no specific date for the visit.

Thus, according to new data, plans for the arrival of American representatives in Ukraine remain in place, but the timing has shifted due to the security situation following the intensification of Russian strikes on the capital.

Witkoff and Kushner are involved in diplomatic contacts of the Trump administration related to finding ways to end the Russo-Ukrainian war. Their possible visit to Kyiv has been under discussion for several months.
