On the interbank currency market on Monday, August 24, quotes immediately after opening went up, and by now they have risen from 44.65 to 44.741 UAH on the "bid" position. The National Bank already in the first minutes of the trading session joined the participants and carried out a currency intervention, selling about 100 million dollars in less than an hour. The regulator's intervention did not allow the dollar to grow too much.

The euro on the interbank currency market of Ukraine on Monday is trading in the range of 52.14-52.20 UAH on the "bid" position - slightly below last Friday's prices. The euro is correcting against the dollar after last week's surge and has already dropped to 1.1660 dollars.

Cash dollar price tags have hardly changed compared to last Friday. If on Friday afternoon wholesale exchange offices in Kyiv were selling the dollar at 44.83-44.85 UAH, today - at 44.83-44.84 UAH. In Dnipro the dollar is sold today at 44.87-44.90 UAH, in Kharkiv - at 44.89 UAH, in Mykolaiv - at 44.90 UAH, in Odesa - at 44.95 UAH.

Ukrainian banks by 1:00 PM are selling the dollar at prices from 44.80 UAH in Alliance Bank to 45.20 UAH in Idea Bank. As for the euro, at the moment it can be bought cheapest at 52.18 UAH in some branches of Bank Lviv in right-bank Ukraine.

Oil prices continue to decline after a sharp rise last week. The price of the most popular Brent grade today fell to $90.25 per barrel and at the time of writing is trading in the range of $90.95-91.10 per barrel.
