Russia struck Kherson TPP with aerial bomb: facility severely damaged

Russian troops attacked the Kherson Thermal Power Plant with a guided aerial bomb. The facility, which is the main source of heat supply for the city, sustained serious destruction.

This was reported by Naftogaz Group.

The exact scale of the damage has not yet been determined due to the security situation. According to Serhiy Fedorenko, acting CEO of Naftogaz of Ukraine, specialists will be able to assess the consequences of the attack as soon as it becomes possible.

"The extent of the damage will be assessed as soon as the security situation allows. We are coordinating further actions with local authorities," - he said.

Naftogaz emphasized that Kherson TPP is an exclusively civilian facility, whose main purpose is to provide heat to the city residents.

During 2026, the thermal power plant has already been subjected to Russian attacks dozens of times.
