Dollar on interbank falls to monthly low without NBU intervention

On the interbank currency market on Wednesday, August 26, a strong imbalance of demand and supply emerged: this time the number of those wishing to sell currency was greater than the number of buyers, so quotes went down even without the participation of the National Bank.

By the time of writing, they had fallen to 44.552 UAH on the "bid" position, practically to the minimum level of the last month (44.55 UAH on the "bid" position is the minimum value since July 14 of this year).

The euro on the interbank currency market of Ukraine on Wednesday is trading in the range of 51.99-52.07 UAH on the "bid" position - practically at the same level as on Tuesday. On FOREX, the euro stopped its decline observed yesterday and the day before and is trading in the range of 1.1660-1.1677 dollars. Today the publication of American statistics is expected, which could significantly affect the price of the euro in the world.

Cash dollar prices continue to decline. If on Tuesday afternoon wholesale exchange offices of Kyiv sold dollars at 44.79-44.80 UAH, today they are selling at 44.69-44.70 UAH. In Dnipro and Khmelnytskyi, the dollar is sold at 44.75 UAH, in Mykolaiv - at 44.77 UAH, in Odesa - at 44.78-44.80 UAH, in Poltava - at 44.85 UAH.

Ukrainian banks by 12:30 sell the dollar at prices ranging from 44.73 UAH in some branches of Bank Lviv on the right-bank Ukraine to 45.10 UAH in Idea Bank. As for the euro, at the moment the cheapest place to buy it is at 52.04 UAH also in some branches of Bank Lviv.

Oil prices have been falling for the fourth day in a row. The price of the most popular Brent grade today dropped to $84.57 per barrel and by the time of writing is trading in the range of $84.95-85.25 per barrel.

On crypto exchanges, prices of the main cryptocurrencies are correcting after a sharp rise yesterday and the day before. Thus, bitcoin (BTC) on the most popular crypto exchange Binance fell from $81,272 to $77,851 per coin. At the moment it is being sold at $78,440-78,460 per coin. As for ethereum (ETH), its price fell from $2,535.50 to $2,414.64. Currently, ethereum is being sold at $2,445-2,455 per coin.
