Ukraine to receive $10.5 million for storing harvest of front-line farmers

International partners have confirmed the allocation of about $10.5 million for temporary storage of the harvest of small and medium-sized agricultural producers working in front-line regions of Ukraine. The government expects to attract another $25 million from the World Bank.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Koretskyi announced this.

According to him, the attracted funds will allow agricultural producers to obtain the necessary equipment and partially solve the problem of storing this year's harvest.

The need for additional storage capacities arose, in particular, due to complications with the export of Ukrainian agricultural products amid Russian attacks in the Black Sea region.

At the same time, the government together with the World Bank is finalizing the possibility of attracting another $25 million to expand the program. If this financing is approved, the total amount of support could reach about $35.5 million.

Koretskyi noted that the Cabinet of Ministers continues negotiations with international financial organizations and donors to increase targeted assistance to farmers who suffer losses due to Russian attacks and disruption of Black Sea logistics.
