Budanov expects a new round of talks with the Russian Federation in September: The Kremlin commented

Ukraine is counting on the resumption of the negotiation process and a new meeting of the Ukrainian, Russian and American sides as early as September. According to the head of the Office of the President, Kyrylo Budanov, the negotiation track is currently on pause, but it is planned to "revive" it. At the same time, the Kremlin said that they do not yet have information about specific plans and dates for the next round.

Budanov said this in a comment to Novyny.LIVE.

According to him, the nearest events within the negotiation process may take place as early as September.

When asked for clarification whether he means a meeting of the Ukrainian and Russian negotiating delegations, Budanov answered affirmatively, noting that he also expects the participation of the American side.

"I hope for that, yes. Well, and the American side as well. We can't do without them", - said the head of the Office of the President.

The Kremlin does not name specific dates

Moscow has not yet confirmed preparations for a concrete new round of talks.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists on August 27 that the Russian side has no information about plans and dates for the next meeting involving Russia, the USA and Ukraine.

At the same time, according to him, Russian-American contacts regarding a possible settlement of the war against Ukraine continue at the working level.

Thus, Kyiv allows the possibility of the parties returning to negotiations as early as next month, but no agreed date or format of the meeting has been publicly announced so far.

Budanov commented on the CIA director's visit to Moscow

Separately, Budanov commented on the unannounced visit of CIA Director John Ratcliffe to Moscow.

According to him, Russia's war against Ukraine was among the topics of the American official's talks in Moscow, but was not the main topic of the trip.

At the same time, the head of the Office of the President urged to refrain from premature conclusions about the specific purpose of Ratcliffe's visit and to wait for official information.

"Let's be restrained in public statements", - said Budanov, commenting on speculation that the CIA director may have passed a warning to Moscow about a possible escalation against NATO countries.

The day before, US President Donald Trump confirmed Ratcliffe's trip to Moscow and called it "semi-routine". He also denied that the visit was directly related to possible actions by Russia against NATO countries, while stressing that Washington continues to work on ending the war in Ukraine.
