Russia attacked another Epicentr, company may cease operations in two cities

On the morning of August 28, Russian troops struck the territory of the Epicentr hypermarket in Zaporizhzhia. The building was damaged, and one person reportedly requires medical assistance. This is the third city in five days where facilities of this chain have come under Russian attacks.

The attack was reported by the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov. Initially, he did not name the shopping center, but photographs released by the regional authorities show that it was the Epicentr hypermarket. Local Telegram channels had earlier reported a strike on this particular facility.

According to preliminary information from the administration, the building of the shopping center was damaged as a result of the attack. One person needs medical attention. Further details of the consequences of the strike are being clarified.

This is a continuation of a series of Russian attacks on Epicentr facilities. On August 27, a drone hit the chain's hypermarket in the Osnovianskyi district of Kharkiv. A man was killed, and five others sought medical help.

Three days earlier, on August 24, during a massive attack on Odesa, Russian forces hit two Epicentr hypermarkets at once. The company confirmed damage to both shopping centers, where large-scale fires broke out after the strikes.

Thus, over the course of five days, Russian attacks have affected at least four retail facilities of the chain in three cities - Odesa, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia.

Amid the latest strikes, media also reported a possible closure of Epicentr facilities in Odesa and Zaporizhzhia. Local resource OneNews claims that the company has sent corresponding letters to partners. At the same time, the chain has not publicly announced such a decision.
