The Khortytsia distillery in Zaporizhzhia, part of the Global Spirits alcohol holding, has been virtually destroyed as a result of a Russian attack and cannot be restored. The company also lost about 3-4 million bottles of finished products.

The extent of the destruction was reported by Global Spirits' press service, writes NV Business.

According to the company, there were four hits on the plant's territory. The fire at the facility lasted at least three hours.

Global Spirits stated that the production site suffered such destruction that its restoration is already impossible.

Some of the finished products were completely burned, others were damaged by high temperatures and must be disposed of. In total, the company estimates losses of approximately 3-4 million bottles of products, for which excise tax had already been paid.

According to Global Spirits, the average cost of a unit of lost products was about 100 UAH.

One of Global Spirits' key plants

The Khortytsia distillery was one of Global Spirits' main production assets and one of the largest producers of strong alcohol in Ukraine.

The enterprise operated in Zaporizhzhia since 2003. According to Global Spirits, the plant employed over 500 workers, and the bottling lines' productivity reached 16 bottles per second.

The production complex was equipped with equipment from international companies, including Rehau engineering systems and Ital Project bottling lines.

In addition to the flagship Khortytsia vodka, the enterprise produced products under the brands Morosha, Pervak, Medova, Pshenichna Slioza, and Gold Ukraine.

The head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, had previously reported on a Russian strike on one of the city's industrial enterprises. According to him, production facilities were damaged and a fire broke out. The name of the enterprise was not officially disclosed at that time.

Prior to this, the company lost its main warehouse

This is already the second major loss for Global Spirits in the past few months. On the night of July 19, a Russian missile strike completely destroyed the company's main warehouse.

At that time, all warehouse premises and inventory were destroyed, and product delivery to customers temporarily became impossible. Global Spirits preliminarily estimated the damage at over 100 million UAH.

Thus, in a short period, the company lost not only significant inventory and main warehouse infrastructure, but now also one of its key production sites.
