Russia attacked another Fozzy Group facility, company cuts costs (Updated)

Russian attacks continue to cause losses to Fozzy Group. On August 28, a FOZZY Cash & Carry hypermarket in Vyshneve was hit and temporarily closed. Against the backdrop of a series of attacks on logistics infrastructure, the group also decided to suspend bonuses, salary reviews, and hiring for some vacancies.

Fozzy Group reported that no people were injured as a result of the strike on the hypermarket in Vyshneve.

The store is currently closed, and the company is assessing the extent of the damage. Rescuers are working on site and the aftermath of the attack is being cleared.

Fozzy Group freezes part of expenses

At the same time, the group began cutting some expenses after previous Russian strikes on its warehouse and logistics infrastructure.

In particular, Fozzy Group is suspending employee bonuses, salary reviews, and hiring for all open positions.

Such decisions are mentioned in an internal team letter, information about which was confirmed by the group's press service.

Thus, the consequences of the attacks already go beyond the direct losses of individual warehouses or stores and affect the personnel and financial policy of one of the largest Ukrainian retailers.

Fozzy Group clarified the hiring situation

Fozzy Group clarified that the information about the hiring freeze applies only to some office positions. Hiring for supermarkets, warehouses, and production facilities continues—currently, Fozzy Group Logistics and the Silpo chain have 1,614 open positions throughout Ukraine.

Of these, 940 are in logistics, 535 in supermarkets, and another 139 in production facilities. The company is primarily seeking loaders, receiving clerks, sales associates, cooks, bakers, order pickers, and mid-level managers.

The company explained that following the Russian attacks, Fozzy Group is actively restructuring its logistics to ensure the supply of goods to stores. At the same time, “Silpo” continues to expand its network: in the last week alone, the company opened three supermarkets, for which it hired 170 employees.

Earlier cuts began at MAUDAU

This is not the first time that group companies have reviewed expenses after attacks on logistics.

Earlier, it was reported that the MAUDAU marketplace, which is part of Fozzy Group, began cutting some employees after Russian attacks on warehouse infrastructure.

The company then explained the decision by the need to adapt the operational model to new conditions after losses in logistics.

The new strike on FOZZY Cash & Carry in Vyshneve was another damage to the group's assets amid systematic Russian attacks on the warehouse and trade infrastructure of Ukrainian business.
