Kyiv invested another hundreds of millions of hryvnias in "smart" street lighting management
Kyiv City Council's utility company "Informatyka" ordered equipment for managing the capital's outdoor lighting for a total of UAH 327 million. Under two purchases, the city is to receive 91 street lighting control cabinets.
This is reported by "Nashi Hroshi" citing data from the Prozorro system.
The contracts following the tenders were concluded on May 12 and August 26 with SE "Hidden" of LLC "Hidden Energy". Besides the equipment itself, the purchases include its installation, adjustment and visualization.
In May, the company ordered 63 street lighting control cabinets SHKVO250 at UAH 3.26 million per unit. In August, another 28 such cabinets were purchased at UAH 3.30 million.
According to the publication's calculations, in dollar equivalent the price is about $74.2 thousand and $73.9 thousand respectively per cabinet.
Equipment cost rise
"Nashi Hroshi" notes that similar equipment was bought cheaper in 2025. In August last year, one cabinet cost UAH 2.93 million, or about $70.5 thousand, and in May - UAH 2.83 million, or almost $68 thousand.
Thus, in dollar equivalent the current price is about 5-8% higher than during previous purchases.
The purchased cabinets must be compatible with the already implemented Smart lightning app software of the Slovak company SEAK s.r.o. and the PLC Seak data transmission protocol.
SE "Hidden" of LLC "Hidden Energy" is the official distributor of Slovakia's SEAK Energetics in Ukraine and represents the "Smart Light" lighting management system.
Only one participant came to the tender
According to the publication, the company received new orders without competition - no other participants were present at the open tenders.
Cooperation between the capital's utility structures and companies associated with the implementation of this system has been going on for several years.
In 2018, KP "Informatyka" ordered from LLC "Hidden Energy.UA" the software for the system of automatic and dispatcher control and monitoring of Kyiv's outdoor lighting and its pilot implementation in the Dniprovskyi district for UAH 49.77 million. The following year, the company received another contract for UAH 149.54 million.
In 2020, SE "Hidden" of LLC "Hidden Energy" received an order for further implementation of the system for UAH 199.11 million, and in 2021 - for UAH 392.63 million.
According to "Nashi Hroshi", during 2023-2026 the company received orders related to this system for about UAH 2.04 billion. The publication estimates the total cost of implementing the capital's street lighting management system at approximately UAH 2.83 billion.
The system should allow remote control of lamp power, monitoring of power grid parameters, detection of accidents and faulty equipment, and more prompt response to outdoor lighting problems.
