"Phantoms" returned to the roads: police told about the first results of their work
On the first day after the so-called "phantom patrols" returned to the roads of Ukraine, the police issued 810 decisions for traffic violations recorded automatically. For now, the system operates in Kyiv and Kyiv region.
This was announced by the head of the Patrol Police Department, Oleksii Biloshytskyi.
According to him, on August 31, based on the results of the work of phantom vehicles, 810 decisions were issued. This primarily concerns cases of drivers exceeding established speed limits.
"810 decisions in one day mean, first of all, 810 cases of disregarding the established speed limits", - noted Biloshytskyi.
"Phantom patrols" are police cars without special external markings, equipped with automatic violation recording systems. While driving, they can determine the speed of other cars and automatically record violations, after which the system generates materials for issuing decisions.
Earlier it was reported that the work of "phantoms" in Ukraine was resumed after a long break. At the first stage, they returned specifically to the roads of Kyiv and Kyiv region.
